Adult Sail: The Basics
Learn to sail or brush up on existing skills. Solidify the basics: boat handling, basic navigation, weather, and safety.
For beginner sailors or those looking to brush up on their skills.

Feeling like you’ve been cooped up for too long? Feeling a pull to get out on the water? Well, summer is here and so is Adult Sailing at HMC! Join our small group classes and get ready to to practice small boat handling, basic navigation, weather, and safety. Participants will have the opportunity to sail single-handedly and in two-person boats! Sorry, we can’t promise you won’t get wet!
Intermediate: Intro to Racing
Elevate your sailing skills to the competitive level while focusing on the essentials of racing.
For adult sailors who have mastered basic sailing skills and are eager to get into racing.

Ready to take your sailing to the next level? Come learn the fundamental rules of racing, tactics, and strategies, all while improving your boat handling and control in a racing context!
You Will Learn: Racing Rules and Regulations, Starting Techniques, Race Tactics, Mark Rounding, Sail Trim for Speed, Crew Coordination and Communication, and Safety During Racing!
Participants should be comfortable handling a sailboat in moderate conditions and have a basic understanding of sailing terms and maneuvers.
