Sailing

If you are interested in working as a Junior Sailing Instructor, Senior Sailing Instructor, or Sailing Coach at HMC, please forward us your resume and we will be in touch!

Please send resumes and inquiries to our Executive Director, Amy Conley

We are always interested in hearing from qualified applicants! In particular, we are seeking out experienced, college-aged (and above) sailing instructors, but we encourage all interested applicants to apply. We pay competitive, hourly rates and instructors are expected to have a current First Aid/CPR certificate in order to be considered for employment. Additional qualifications such as US Sailing Level 1 or Certified Lifeguard may result in additional compensation. (Please note: junior instructors must be at least 17 years old or an incoming high school senior in order to be considered for employment.)

Rowing

If you are interested in working as a Rowing Coach at HMC, please forward us your resume and we will be in touch!

HMC is currently hiring for rowing coaches at both the youth/adult and novice/experienced levels. We run both youth and adult programs and we typically hire a range of individuals, including experienced rowers who are looking to transition into coaching by gaining experience at HMC. Our on-water season starts in early May and runs until late October. Current collegiate rowers and recent graduates are also welcome to apply for summer-only work, in line with their availability. Rates of pay are competitive and there is some flexibility in scheduling.

Instructor In Training

Are you confident with your rowing and/or sailing skills? Do you enjoy helping others build confidence? Interested in gaining leadership experience on the water? HMC’s Instructor In Training Program is a great opportunity to build the skills needed to be a future instructor!

Please send resumes and inquiries to our Executive Director, Amy Conley

HMC’s Instructor In Training program is a great next step for teens looking to share their skills and knowledge with others. Instructors in training will be mentored by seasoned HMC staff in the hard and soft skills necessary to lead on the water.

Volunteering

Would you like to gain some work experience in this field before seeking employment? Are you an experienced oars person, sailor or mariner with some time to give? Are you handy with fixing things (trailers, handrails, boats-you name it!)? Do you want to get involved in fundraising or in supporting our development plans for Barnes Wharf? If so, we’d love to hear from you and have you join our team as a volunteer. HMC relies on both youth and adult volunteers to support the many activities of the Center!
