Katie Manning joined the Hingham Maritime staff in 2009 as a youth sailing instructor and Opti Race Coach. In June 2015, Manning took on the role of Director of Sailing and has thrived in the position since.

Katie started sailing at age 7 across the bay at Hull Yacht Club. The HYC “Rookie of the Year” award was the start of many for Katie’s sailing recognition. Katie loves racing, coaching, and sailing for pleasure with friends and family. As a lobsterman’s daughter, Katie has a natural sense of respect for water, and spends a majority of the summer on a boat.

Katie Manning joined the Hingham Maritime staff in 2009 as a youth sailing instructor and Opti Race Coach. In June 2015, Manning took on the role of Director of Sailing and has thrived in the position since.

Katie started sailing at age 7 across the bay at Hull Yacht Club. The HYC “Rookie of the Year” award was the start of many for Katie’s sailing recognition. Katie loves racing, coaching, and sailing for pleasure with friends and family. As a lobster man’s daughter, Katie has a natural sense of respect for water, and spends a majority of the summer on a boat. Katie holds a current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, First Aid/CPR, and US Sailing Level 1 instructor certification. Katie graduated Endicott College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education- Teacher Licensure and will be an elementary school teacher.

She is proud to see a significant amount of growth at Hingham Maritime Center each year and is excited to see what the future holds!
