LMC’s Bid for Barnes Wharf

Dear LMC Community,

As many of you are aware, Barnes Wharf on Hingham Harbor has been LMC’s home for the past forty-five years. Earlier this winter an opportunity to secure our long-term future in this space arose when the Town of Hingham issued a request for proposals for the operation of a community rowing and sailing center on the wharf (the “RFP”). In turn, LMC responded with an extensive proposal to lease the wharf for thirty years in order to continue operating our long-standing rowing and sailing programs. A copy of the response that LMC submitted, which provides for LMC to privately raise and invest over $2 million, is available here.

As you can see, this is a major and exciting undertaking for our organization. You can read more about how you can support this bid and LMC’s long-term future in a recent letter from our Board President, Rick Pedone, available here.

We need our faithful sailors, rowers and parents to galvanize support for our bid so that we can continue our important mission of connecting the citizens of Hingham and beyond with our beautiful harbor. If you would like to learn more or are interested in contributing to the project, financially or otherwise, please feel free to get in contact with any LMC board member or Rosamund Conroy, LMC’s Executive Director (rconroy@lincolnmaritime.org).

Thank you for your support!
