Please join us for HMC’s 2017 Holiday Social!
This year’s Holiday Social will be held on Thursday, December 7th, 2017 from 7:30pm to 10pm at the historic Ames Chapel (12 South St., Hingham, MA, 02043). This event is a casual, fun and relaxed way to catch up with fellow rowers, sailors, parents and the HMC board/staff before the holiday season starts in earnest.
Event tickets, which are available to adults age 21+, include nibbles, beer and wine. There will also be a silent auction of wonderful holiday gifts and some great door prizes for a few lucky raffle winners. Dress is festive/smart casual and parking is available in multiple locations around the Ames Chapel (including on South St. and in the Station St. lot). If you have any questions about the social, please feel free to email us on: firstname.lastname@example.org.

We look forward to seeing you there!
About the Ames Chapel (for more information, please visit their website by clicking here):
“Hingham Cemetery’s Ames Chapel was designed in the Queen Anne style by architect J. Sumner Fowler and erected in 1886. Its purpose was to be a venue for funeral services for people who had moved out of town and were no longer affiliated with a house of worship in the area. As the years passed, descendants had stopped coming back to bury their parents or grandparents in the family plot, and the chapel went out of use, subsequently falling into disrepair.”
In 2015, the Ames Chapel underwent a magnificent $1 million restoration with the help of private donations, and grants from the Hingham Community Preservation Committee, the Massachusetts Historical Commission and the Hingham Historical Commission. It is now an increasingly popular rental venue for both community and private uses and the Maritime Center is delighted to be able to host our holiday social in this beautiful space.
